Several people took cracks at the Rovers and the final design, while fundamentally David Levy's with some sweet modelling help from Joe Hiura, is somewhat a hybrid of various experiments. This illo shows my attempt to reconcile several design passes, including a version from UK art director Marc Homes, into a Rover which actually has a flight mode, an idea which was explored but didn't make it into the movie.
